Legislators are considering bills to bring down costs, such as requiring professors to use the least expensive “educationally sound” option. As I have read articles about the burden of textbook costs, I have done some soul-searching about the cost of the books I choose for my students. I conclude that the textbooks I use are a good value compared to the alternatives.</p>
