Public hearing on proposed projects

Overland Park, KS – Residents are invited to offer suggestions on proposed projects contained in the 2013-2017 Capital Improvements Program during two public hearings.

Public comment sessions are during the Planning Commission meeting at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10.

The second hearing is at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, during the City Council meeting.

Both meeting are in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 8500 Santa Fe Drive.

The CIP is a five-year plan on future public improvements and facilities in the city. It provides data concerning costs, timing, funding sources, budget impacts and alternatives.Construction crews place new asphalt for a new street.


The CIP includes large projects, such as improvements to residential streets, thoroughfares and sidewalks, and the purchase of large equipment such as fire trucks. Over the past few years, the CIP has been cut more than 50 percent due to economic challenges.
