Olathe – Housing Services Office to Relocate Beginning November 8

The Olathe Housing Services Division, formerly located at 201 N. Cherry Street, will relocate to 200 W. Santa Fe beginning November 8. The division will open for business at the new location on Wednesday, November 9. The telephone number remains 913-971-6260. The Housing Services Division is responsible for programs including Taxi Coupon, Housing Authority, Housing Rehabilitation, Community Development Block Grant and Human Relations.

Burn Ban Issued for Olathe – City of Olathe

Due to the unseasonably dry weather conditions, a burn ban was issued for Olathe on Saturday, October 29. The preventive measure excludes grills and recreational activities like fire pits. The ban will be reviewed daily and remain in place until it is lifted by the Olathe Fire Department. Division Chief and Fire Marshal Brad Henson said, “Proactive fire prevention measures such as this are important to helping reduce the community’s risk to fire.”
