2012 Generic Presidential Ballot, Rasmussen – Republican Candidate 46%, Obama 44%

Eighty-four percent (84%) of GOP voters support a generic candidate from their party, while 81% of Democrats favor Obama. Voters not affiliated with either political party prefer the Republican 41% to 39%.
Voters under the age of 40 heavily favor the incumbent, while their elders support the Republican. Among male voters, the GOP candidate leads Obama by seven points. The president leads by four points among female voters.

Ninety-four percent (94%) of black voters and 56% of voters of other races favor Obama, while 54% of whites support the Republican.
