Rob Siedlecki Jr. Confirmed as SRS Secretary
Topeka – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback’s nominee for Secretary of the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS), Rob Siedlecki Jr., was confirmed by the Kansas Senate this afternoon.
Rob Siedlecki Jr., a 41 year-old native of New York, has more than 15 years of public and private sector leadership experience at the local, state and federal levels. Most recently, Siedlecki was the chief of staff for the Florida Department of Health which has 17-thousand employees and an annual budget of nearly three-billion dollars.
“I am happy to be working beside the hardworking professionals at SRS as well as Governor Brownback and Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer as we strive to improve the well-being of children and families in Kansas,” Secretary Siedlecki said.
Governor Brownback reiterated his support for the new secretary.
“As SRS Secretary, Rob brings a unique combination of working with the same federal programs that SRS implements in our state and supervising a large staff and budget,” Governor Brownback said. “He understands the severe budget challenges Kansas faces. He will work to improve the delivery of our health services programs to our state’s most vulnerable in a cost effective way.”
The Senate confirmed Siedlecki by a vote of 34-1.

Kansas Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE) Act Goes to Governor’s Desk
TOPEKA (Mar. 29, 2011) – Today the House of Representatives concurred with Senate amendments to HB 2067, the Kansas Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE) Act. As a result, the Act is on its way to Governor Brownback for signature. “This is a major victory for Kansans,” said Secretary of State Kris Kobach. “When the governor signs this common sense law, Kansans can be assured that in this state only U.S. citizens will be registered to vote, and that committing voter fraud on election day will be extremely difficult.” (more…)

The Shelter Tour Dates
———————————————-
Dear Friends,
I probably don’t need to say it, but I will: The Rock & Worship Roadshow was more fun than we could have ever hoped. The audiences were crazy and amazing. From the people who produced the entire tour, to the promoters who worked to get us to their cities, and all the way to the other bands we had the privilege of performing with night after night, everyone involved helped make it one of the most fun tours that we have been on in the last decade.

Tenth Amendment Center and WeRefuse Present:
nullifynow!
The Nullify Now! Tour is sweeping the country!
Do you want to know how to stop the Federal Government dead
in its tracks? Then help bring the Nullify Now! tour featuring Tom Woods as keynote speaker, to the Kansas City area.
You will learn how we can roll back Obamacare, Cap
and Trade, and other unconstitutional expansions of federal
power through nullification, the Jeffersonian solution to an out-of-control Federal government.
Learn:
-Why the Founding Fathers believed that nullification was the
moderate middle ground, not the road to secession.
-Why the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution gives the states the
power to nullify unconstitutional laws. Why states, not the Supreme
Court, should arbitrate disputes between the states and the federal
government over the constitutionality of the federal government’s
actions.
Here is the pledge site for the tour:

We need to raise the funds now to bring this tour to Kansas City. It takes a minimum of 60 days after the funds are raised to set up the tour, so if we want this to happen soon, please pledge your support today.
