MANHATTAN — Royal purple has a prestigious history at Kansas State University. Since K-State students selected it as the school’s official color in 1896, the color has become one of the university’s greatest identifiers.

The Kansas House has passed the Health Care Freedom Amendment (HCR 5007) on a vote of 91 to 27. Click here to see the final vote. Thank you to those of you who contacted your representative through our action alert last week – we appreciate your effort to show support of this measure. HCR 5007 preserves the freedom of Kansans to make health care insurance decisions without being subjected to government mandates. And contrary to what some opponents are saying, the Health Care Freedom Amendment would not deny any Kansan from participating in a given plan. Rather, it secures the fundamental right of Kansans to make their own health decision. (more…)
