Lenexa offers tree debris drop-off service for residents

While damage from the July 16 storm was not as severe in Lenexa as some of the neighboring communities, a number of Lenexa neighborhoods did experience tree damage and debris from limbs and branches. To help residents dispose of tree debris from the storm, the Lenexa Service Center will open a tree debris drop-off location. Residents may drop off tree limbs and branches at the Service Center during the following times:

Tuesday, July 20, through Friday, July 23, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Service Center is located at 7700 Cottonwood Drive. Enter by the soccer fields across from Mill Creek Elementary School on Pflumm Road.

Residents with tree limbs that are larger than six inches in diameter may call the Service Center for pickup. The limbs must be cut to 6-feet in length and stacked parallel with the street. For pickup, call the Service Center at 913.477.7880 between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. by Friday, July 23.

Residents who contract with Deffenbaugh, Inc. for their regular trash service may also place tree debris at the curb for pickup with their regular trash collection service. Branches and limbs must be cut no longer than 4 feet and bundled no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles must not be heavier than 40 pounds. Residents who contract with other haulers should contact their haulers to confirm tree debris pick-up service and requirements.

Questions may be directed to the Municipal Services Department at 913.477.7880.
