JC WATTS AND ERICK ERICKSON JOIN PALIN, TANCREDO AND HANNITY

IN ENDORSING TIAHRT FOR US SENATE

WICHITA, KAN.-Todd Tiahrt’s U.S. Senate campaign today announced that former Oklahoma Congressman JC Watts has endorsed Todd Tiahrt for the U.S. Senate. Watts was one of the most prominent conservative members of the U.S. House of Representatives during his tenure and delivered the Republican response to President Clinton’s State of the Union address in 1997.

The Tiahrt campaign also announced that RedState.com editor, Erick Erickson, has endorsed Tiahrt in his U.S. Senate race. RedState.com is one of the most influential right-of-center blogs in the nation.

The Watts and Erickson endorsements come on the heels of several high profile conservative champions throwing their support behind Tiahrt, including Sarah Palin, Tom Tancredo, Sean Hannity and Karl Rove.

Watts said, “I’ve fought a lot of tough battles throughout my career, and there is no question Todd Tiahrt is the kind of genuine leader I want fighting with me to get our country moving in the right direction. Todd has consistently put his constituents first by fighting for lower taxes, against special constitutional rights for terrorists and against Washington’s spending deficits that are putting us into further debt with foreign countries.”

Watts and Erickson join the growing list of conservative leaders from across the state and nation who support Tiahrt, including Gov. Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, former Congressman Tom Tancredo, Karl Rove, Dr. James Dobson, Steve Forbes, Dick Morris, Rep. Mike Pence, former US Attorney General John Ashcroft, Sen. Jim Inhofe, Kansas House Majority Leader Ray Merrick, Kansas House Speaker Pro Tem Arlen Siegfreid, Kansas House Assistant Majority Leader Peggy Mast, Kansas House Majority Whip Rob Olson, 23 Fourth District State Legislators, former Sen. Rick Santorum, Morton Blackwell, Tony Perkins, David Keene, former Sen. George Allen, Congressman Mike Rogers, former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, former Congressman Jim Ryun, and conservative talk radio icon Mark Levin.

Tiahrt also has the support of conservative groups, such as the Tea Party Express, the Northwest Johnson County Republicans organization, the Kansas 9.12 Project, the Kansas Federation of College Republicans, the Independence Caucus of Kansas, Concerned Women for America PAC, Kansans for Life PAC, Family Research Council PAC, Citizens United, the Traditional Values Coalition and Eagle Forum.
