KMBC – 2,000 NAACP Delegates Unanimously Condemn Tea Party “Racist Elements”

The NAACP national convention passed a resolution Tuesday condemning racist elements in the tea party, a spokesperson said. More than 2,000 delegates unanimously approved the resolution Tuesday afternoon.

It’s official – the establishment has found their “golden boy” and are filling his campaign coffers with hundreds of thousands of dollars in an attempt to purchase the 3rd District.  The establishment has never liked me – and that’s okay, because I really don’t really care much for them either.

The good news is that while those who spend your money have found my opponent, the people who earn it have found me.  See, in 2010, the American people have consistently said no to establishment-backed candidates and yes to liberty-loving conservative candidates who stand up on principle and are unafraid to speak the truth about what is going on in our country.

Here in the 3rd District, the people are turning to my candidacy.  With early voting beginning tomorrow, the time is now to rise up and ensure the 3rd District is represented by someone who will fight for conservative values and remain firmly committed to the principles of limited government, economic freedom, and individual liberty.

Dear Supporter,

I have dedicated my life to securing our borders, enforcing our immigration laws, and maintaining an America that would make our forefathers proud.

For this reason, I care about the views on immigration of every elected official in America. In February of this year I endorsed Congressman Jerry Moran for the United States Senate.

I came to this difficult conclusion after receiving untrue and incomplete information from the Moran for Senate campaign and Congressman Moran himself.

After independent research, I have learned disturbing information about Congressman Moran’s support of amnesty and benefits for illegal immigrants.

He voted against my amendment to defund sanctuary cities, essentially granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants in each of those cities.

Congressman Moran also voted with Nancy Pelosi to remove citizenship verification for illegal immigrants to receive welfare benefits.

Then he raised your taxes to pay for those health care benefits.

Congressman Moran even opposed money to secure our borders and build the fence.

In addition to hiding his own record, Congressman Moran distorted and maligned Congressman Todd Tiahrt’s record on illegal immigration. Congressman Tiahrt has been innovative in his approach to sealing the borders, written legislation to close loopholes so you and I don’t pay for benefits to illegal immigrants, and led the charge to keep tough immigration laws at the forefront of the debate in Congress when so many others are letting President Obama take the lead.

Because I care about the burden illegal immigration places on this country, I am withdrawing my endorsement of Congressman Moran and proudly endorsing Congressman Todd Tiahrt.

Reid has also been trying to raise doubts about Angle and a solid plurality of voters now have negative perceptions of both candidates. Reid is viewed Very Favorably by just 26% of Nevada voters and Very Unfavorably by 48%. For Angle, Very Favorables are 18% and Very Unfavorables are 39%.

At this point in a campaign, Rasmussen Reports considers the number of people with a strong opinion more significant than the total favorable/unfavorable numbers. Nevada is viewed as one of nine Toss-Up states in the Rasmussen Reports Senate Balance of Power rankings.
Only three percent (3%) of Nevada voters now rate the economy as good or excellent, while 62% describe it as poor. Twenty-eight percent (28%) say the economy is getting better, but 49% believe it’s getting worse.
Seventy-four percent (74%) of voters in the state say the United States is in a recession.
Thirty-two percent (32%) of the state’s voters think the economy was helped by the $787-billion economic stimulus plan that Reid helped steer through the Congress. Thirty-nine percent (39%) say the plan hurt the economy. This is a slightly more positive view of the stimulus plan than is found nationwide.
However, just 27% say the government spending in the stimulus plan created new jobs. Fifty-seven percent (57%) say it did not.

Rasmussen – 32% Favor Affirmative Action, 46% Oppose It

Just 13% of voters view affirmative action as a success. Twenty-three percent (23%) say it’s been a failure, but most voters (59%) say it’s been somewhere in between a success and failure. These findings, too, have changed little over the past two years.

White voters are three times as likely as blacks to say affirmative action has been a failure, although the majority of both groups rate it somewhere in between the two.
Also essentially unchanged is the belief by 47% of voters that affirmative action programs discriminate against white men. Thirty-four percent (34%) disagree, but another 19% are not sure.
Fifty-three percent (53%) of male voters believe affirmative action discriminates against white men, compared to 42% of women.
