Patricia Lightner Pledges to De-Fund ObamaCare
Charlottesville, VA – Today DeFundIt.org is proud to announce Patricia Lightner, Republican candidate for Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District, has signed our pledge to de-fund ObamaCare. Over 110 candidates have signed the pledge, including Congressman Todd Tiahrt, Congressman Ron Paul, Congressman Steve King, Nevada Senate frontrunners Sharron Angle and Sue Lowden, Utah Senate frontrunner Tim Bridgewater, and eight NRCC “Young Guns”. Chairman Alex Cortes, speaking on Patricia Lightner’s pledge said:
“By signing our pledge, Lightner has taken a leadership position in calling for the de-funding of ObamaCare as the first necessary step to fully repealing and replacing this unconstitutional, job-killing, fiscal train wreck. Americans and Kansans will have a friend in Congress with a principled public servant like Patricia.”

Read Andrew Cuomo’s 250-page manifesto (relax, it’s big type on small pages), and you could come to the conclusion that Cuomo, New York’s attorney general, and Chris Christie did their homework together during study period. Their ideas on how to rescue their states from financial ruin while reframing the rotting political and institutional structures are remarkably similar:
PHOENIX (AP) – Thousands of people from around the country marched to the Arizona state Capitol on Saturday to protest the state’s tough new crackdown on illegal immigration.
VENICE, La., May 30 (Reuters) – U.S. lawmakers and local residents clamored on Sunday for BP and the Obama administration to do more to save the Gulf Coast from an out-of-control oil spill that has become the biggest environmental catastrophe in the country’s history.
Washington’s unprecedented backing for a UN resolution for a nuclear-free Middle East that singles out Israel has both angered and deeply worried the Jewish state although officials are cagey about openly criticising their biggest ally. The resolution adopted by the United Nations on Friday calls on Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and urges it to open its facilities to inspection.
An interesting “stand-off” of sorts developed outside a barbecue President Obama was attending at a friend’s house Saturday night between followers of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan on one side and members of the press and the U.S. Secret Service guarding the president on the other.
The Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), a London-based consultancy, has warned Greek ministers they will be unable to escape their debt trap without devaluing their own currency to boost exports. The only way this can happen is if Greece returns to its own currency.
KABUL — A biting U.S. military report released Saturday criticized “inaccurate and unprofessional” reporting by operators of unmanned drones for contributing to a mistaken February airstrike that killed and injured dozens of civilians in southern Afghanistan.
Promoting his new documentary “South of the Border” in Caracas, Stone heaped praise on Chavez, saying he is leading a movement for “social transformation” in Latin American. The film features informal interviews by Stone with Chavez and six allied leftist presidents, from Bolivia’s Evo Morales to Cuba’s Raul Castro.
“I admire Hugo. I like him very much as a person. I can say one thing. … He shouldn’t be on television all the time,” Stone said at a news conference. “As a director I say you don’t want to be overpowering. And I think he is sometimes that way.”
