Lightner Announces Rep. Eric Carter Will Chair Campaign
Olathe, Kan. – Former State Rep. Patricia Lightner, Republican for Congress in the 3rd District of Kansas, has announced that Eric Carter, former State Representative from the 48th District, has accepted the role of General Chairman of her campaign.
“I am proud to announce that Rep. Eric Carter will be chairing my campaign for Congress. Eric is a principled conservative and has the respect of both his former colleagues as well as many in the community. His leadership and strategic expertise will be extremely valuable during these next several months. I am truly honored he has accepted this important role,” said Lightner.
Rep. Carter, who served Overland Park from 2003-2006 and emerged as one of the leading conservatives during his time in the House, said he was looking forward to helping Patricia secure victory in both August and November.
“Patricia Lightner is the real deal — a principled conservative who understands what is facing our country and is fully prepared to engage aggressively in the debate as a champion for limited government, economic freedom, individual liberty, the rule of law, and a culture of life. There is no candidate in the race who has so clearly articulated those principles than Patricia, and I look forward to helping lead her campaign to victory,” said Carter.
Carter further noted how Patricia, from the beginning of her campaign, cited the trend towards socialism in our nation’s current leadership, and was unafraid to stand up to stop it.
“The Tea Party movement may be this country’s last and best chance to halt our nation’s descent into socialism, and Patricia was direct about that from the beginning. We desperately need elected legislators who will stop trying to bribe us with our own money. Patricia Lightner embraces and embodies the mission and spirit of this crucial Tea Party movement, and I anxiously await the election of new Congressmen like Patricia this November. It couldn’t happen a moment too soon!”
