Eighty-five percent (85%) also think that the person known to history as Jesus Christ actually walked the earth 2,000 years ago. Six percent (6%) disagree. Eight percent (8%) aren’t sure.

Former Defense Minister: Israel Will Attack Iran by November — Newsmax

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Israel will be compelled to attack Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities by this November unless the U.S. and its allies enact “crippling sanctions that will undermine the regime in Tehran,” former deputy defense minister Brig. Gen. Ephraim Sneh said on Wednesday in Tel Aviv.

The sanctions currently being discussed with Russia, China, and other major powers at the United Nations are likely to be a slightly-enhanced version of the U.N. sanctions already in place, which have had no impact on the Iranian regime.

In Case You Missed It:

See highlights from our first debate with Charlie Crist last Sunday on Fox News Sunday.
On Wednesday, Senator Tom Coburn M.D. (R-OK) endorsed Marco saying: “I have closely studied Florida’s Senate candidates and have no doubt that Marco Rubio is the only fiscal conservative in this race. Rubio would be a faithful guardian of taxpayer dollars in Washington and valued ally in the Senate. At a time when Washington is piling on crippling debt on our economy, the American people need Marco Rubio in Washington to stand up to this reckless behavior and offer clear conservative solutions.”
Recognizing the importance of the youth vote, we launched our college campus organizational drive to recruit college students for on-campus campaigning, summer volunteering and voter outreach efforts. Find more information about the college campus drive here.
Happy Easter! Read Marco’s Easter message here.

RedState: Stevens Retirement Makes Way for Second Obama SCOTUS Pick

Monday, April 5th, 2010

“I do have to fish or cut bait, just for my own personal peace of mind and also in fairness to the process,” Stevens, 89, told the New York Times. “The president and the Senate need plenty of time to fill a vacancy.”

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who Stevens told last month for a profile in New Yorker magazine that he would resolve on his retirement in a month’s time, predicted the 35-year SCOTUs veteran’s retirement is imminent. Observers of the court expect Stevens to announce his intentions on or after April 28, marking the last argument of the court’s current session.

“We are just about at a month,” Toobin said. “I don’t think he meant that precisely to the day, but I think we will hear in the month of April that he is retiring.”

Rasmussen poll of baseball enthusiasts: Fans Pick A World Series Repeat For Yankees

Monday, April 5th, 2010

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of major league baseball fans shows 29% believe the Bronx Bombers will win their second straight World Series this season.

Seventeen percent (17%) say this season’s title will go to the Boston Red Sox, who last won a championship in 2007.
Another 11% say the championship will go to Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals, while only seven percent (7%) pick last year’s National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies to win their second World Series title in three seasons.
No other team reaches 5% of fans’ predictions to win the World Series this year.

Perhaps not surprisingly, fans of the reigning champions are the most confident. Eighty-three percent (83%) of those rooting for the Yanks think their team will win it all in 2010. But members of Red Sox Nation are virtually just as confident, with 82% who say the Sox will reach this goal.

Rasmussen poll among baseball fans: Joe Torre The Early Favorite To Become Next Baseball Commissioner

Monday, April 5th, 2010

The poll shows 30% believe the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers would make the best commissioner of the league.

Though Torre was a nine-time All Star catcher during his playing days, he is perhaps better known today for his spectacular 12-season run as the New York Yankees’ manager, during which he won four World Series Championships. He left New York for Los Angeles before the 2008 season and the Dodgers have won their division both years since.
Hall of Fame player Hank Aaron earns support from 23% of baseball fans who say he should take the reigns from Selig after he retires, despite the fact that he himself is 76 years old. Though his all-time home runs record was eclipsed in 2006, Aaron still holds the record for most runs batted in and remains in the top five hitters with most lifetime hits.
