Kansans for Life opposes Senate Bill 456, which restricts Constitutionally-protected free speech.

SB 456 is a bill from Attorney General Steve Six which would restrict your right to hear from KFL –or anyone–when using automatically dialed phone calls.

We use auto-dialed calls (always identifying ourselves) to spread educational and legislative messages, as well as political information on issues and candidates.

Since 1992, Kansas has had a “Do-not-call” list for avoiding sales calls, and it exempts calls from non-profit groups and political entities, which the Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld as protected speech.

The Senate will be imminently discussing and voting upon this legislation (SB 456)
The live Senate debate is accessible online at http://www.kslegislature.org/legsrv-legisportal/listen.do

SB 456 is scheduled to follow the death penalty bill being discussed at 10:45 (they may take a lunch break before it)

You can call 1-800-432-3924 to identify and leave a message for your senator.
