CJ Online — Senate passes prison sex bill
The Senate unanimously approved Thursday a bill elevating the penalty for perpetrators convicted of having unlawful sexual relations with inmates in Kansas correctional institutions.
The reforms were driven by reaction to accounts of extraordinary relationships among prisoners and staff members at institutions managed by the Kansas Department of Corrections.
