Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

December 1, 2009 For Immediate Release

Chairman of the Johnson County Republican Party Ronnie Metsker issued the following statement today regarding the resignation of state Senator David Wysong:   “Our best wishes to David, his wife Kathy, and their family.  Senator Wysong has unselfishly served the Johnson County area for 10 years.  David’s record of public service includes Mission Hills City Councilman, Johnson County Commissioner, Chairman of the Johnson County Republican Party and most recently, the 7th District State Senator, where he serves as the Chair of the Senate Commerce Committee and serves on the Ways and Means Committee.”   Senator Wysong said, “I have enjoyed my public life experience but it is actually past time for this decision.  I have met some amazing people along the way. Very, very smart people who only have one thing in mind and that is to help the people of Johnson County and the State of Kansas.”   Chairman Metsker announced, “We have today initiated the steps of replacing Senator Wysong, according to state law.  We will be calling a convention consisting of the appropriate precinct committee members of the Johnson County Republican Party (JCRP).”   Information regarding the replacement process will be released by Chairman Metsker as soon as the details are available.    The Johnson County Republican Party is headquartered at 12651 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas 66213.  And can be contacted at: 913-341-8683 or jcrpks@att.net.       ###
