A group of protesters opposed to an upcoming deer harvest tried to stop people from entering Shawnee Mission Park about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Led by Jason Miller of Lenexa, an animal rights activist, the group stretched a large banner across the main entrance to the park and caused a small traffic jam for about 10 minutes.
