Chuck Carlton in Dallas Morning News: Former Kansas AD remembered
Former Kansas athletic director Bob Frederick, who died Friday of injuries received in a biking accident, was remembered as a rare person in college sports.
Writes Joe Posnanski of the Kansas City Star:
He never understood why he received so many fierce and violent e-mails and why good people would call his home to scream at him over a football loss.
You don’t meet too many people in big-time sports like Bob Frederick. It always seemed to me that he wanted to win, but he did not hate to lose, not in the way so many people expected. He believed: The thing about losing was how you handled it.
