KMBC: Driver, 19, Pulled From Car Before Sinking
KMBC:
Strong winds pushed Krista Mansfield’s car to the shoulder of the road on Monday night, and the car slid off the road when she overcorrected. The car landed in the pond in the 5900 block of Northeast Lakewood Way.
Mansfield said she had been driving home from work when it happened.
“The first thing I was going to do was I was going to call someone,” Mansfield told KMBC’s Peggy Breit. “The water started to rise. I was thinking, ‘I don’t want to die like this.’”
