Florida’s Unnatural Disaster — Charlie Crist
Comrade of the Month nominee Charlie Crist got whacked in one of The Wall Street Journal’s editorials today, and deservedly so.
As you recall from his nomination, “State Farm Insurance recently announced that it would stop selling property insurance in the Sunshine State due to overly punitive government regulations. In response, Crist was unremorseful. He said, ‘Well, they probably charge the highest rates in the state anyway. I think Floridians will be much better off without them.’ Crist now wants to punish State Farm by kicking their auto insurance business out of Florida as well.”
The Journal wrote, “Who needs Mother Nature to cause a catastrophe? Florida’s politicians are busy creating an unnatural disaster in their state insurance market that will blow away taxpayers when the next big hurricane hits. And we mean taxpayers across America. . .
