KFL on still-unresolved case with illegal late-term abortions

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

From KFL:

Judge Clark Owens rejects the motion to dismiss the charges against Tiller.

About a year ago, Tiller’s attorneys made a motion to dismiss all the charges against Dr. George Tiller, the infamous late-term abortionist in Wichita.  The attorneys called witness after witness including two former Attorneys General.  They questioned every document and questioned every witness until all options were exhausted.  They made several implications, innuendos, and suppositions about the charges trying to detract from the actual evidence.

Judge Clark Owens listened patiently to all the witnesses and all the arguments.  Seldom did he overrule an objection and actually extended extra time to Tiller’s attorneys when they requested it.  Judge Owens studied voluminous documents.

The result:  The highest paid attorneys, working for the infamous George Tiller, presenting their best case and bringing all their powerful influence; could not get the charges dismissed.  The Rule of Law is still alive in Sedgwick County.

Tiller will be going to trial.

AND he will be tried on the evidence and the merits of the case – period.

Finally, be aware that Tiller’s attorneys do not want the real evidence submitted to the Court, so we are sure there will be many more objections, appeals, and other antics designed to delay the inevitable.

But today, we thank God for Judge Owens’ ruling.

Republicans are ‘trolls’ and ‘gremlins’: Chris Matthews

MRC:

What’s with Chris Matthews’ fixation with comparing Republicans to trolls? Back in September he called then-presidential candidate John McCain “troll-like” after one of his debate performances, and then over the weekend, on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show, he applied the monstrous term to Republicans in the following intro to his show: “And finally trolls under the bridge. Is that what Washington Republicans have become? Gremlins hiding along the pathway, nipping at the Democrats. And are Republican governors saying, ‘That’s not my job.’”

[This item, by the MRC's Geoffrey Dickens, was posted Monday morning on the MRC's blog, NewsBusters.org: newsbusters.org ]

A little later, going to a break, Matthews teased the upcoming segment with video of Rush Limbaugh, with an on-screen headline reading: “Trolls Under The Bridge.”

MATTHEWS: Anyway when we come back Rush Limbaugh wants Barack Obama to fail. He’s honest about it. Are Republicans letting Limbaugh speak for them?

At the opening of the segment Matthews drew guffaws from guest panelist Norah O’Donnell of NBC when he mocked Limbaugh again:
